Memo
MoD reported 43th escort ended on Aug. 2, 44th began on Aug. 1. It`s not clear on right date.

Editor's notes

I don't know how many Japan linked vessels require MSDF escorts in the Gulf of Aden, these vessels may have other choices. However, I guess not a current escort tempo is enough. In spite of almost 2,100 Japan linked vessels passed through the Gulf of Aden in 2008, escort achievements for Japan linked vessels would be limited almost 400 vessels a year unless MSDF increases the tempo or enlarges convoy scales.

Interestingly, though tankers account for only 10% of 2,100 vessels, tankers account for over 40 % as escorted vessel so far.
