  • There were F/A-18C[N]s (VFA 25 or 113) and F/A-18Es (VFA 115) in the sky above Morghab (Google Maps), providing armed overwatch for friendly ground forces. When anti-coalition forces congregated on a troop transit route, a show of force was requested to disperse the crowd. Also, a strafing run was requested when the enemy forces massed at a position conducive to an ambush on friendly forces. Both actions were successful in dispersing the crowds.

Anti-coalition forces were seen assembling at the enemy compound within the town. A show of force was requested to aid in deterring the enemy fire but was unsuccessful. The anti-coalition sniper position was identified and marked so that a precision-guided munition could be used against the target. The enemy compound was confirmed to have no friendly personnel in or around the target area and a precision-guided munition was deployed. Both munitions successfully destroyed the target and the enemy small-arms fire was terminated.
  • F/A-18Fs (VFA 22) provided armed overwatch for a coalition convoy near Qal E Naw (unknown). The aircraft focused attention on suspicious activity around the convoy area and a show of force was requested to deter any enemy activity. The show of force successfully defused the situation.
